Many people believe that money is one of the most important factors contributing to happiness. In my opinion, it is possible for people to be happy even if they have little money, and other aspects of life can play a more significant role in fostering happiness.
In essence, although having money brings happiness to many people, it does not necessarily follow that people without money are, therefore, unhappy. Take, for example, the comparison between developing and developed countries, the majority of Westerners would concur that people in developing countries are happier, have stronger family ties, and take greater pleasure in life’s simplicities than those in developed ones.
Fortunately, there are some other effective ways in which individuals can achieve happiness. The first one is through their work. For instance, a doctor performing volunteer work in underdeveloped countries may have very little money, but the satisfaction they derive from helping others and doing a job well brings them happiness. In other words, happiness can be found by using skills that people are trained for and through job satisfaction. Furthermore, having supportive and loving people in one’s life is yet another factor that influences happiness positively. While money may provide the opportunity to enjoy pleasures, few individuals would do so without it. Undoubtedly, most people believe that being surrounded by a loving and caring family is more valuable than monetary wealth.
In conclusion, money is not vital for happiness, which can be found through job satisfaction as well as family. If more people pursued genuine happiness rather than wealth, the world would be a better place.
