The line graph provides a comprehensive analysis of the volume of queries received by the Tourist Information Office in one urban center, desaggreated by the method of communication, across a span from January to June 2011.
Overall, it is evident that while face-to-face and telephone inquiries recorded an upward trend, the number of queries via letter or email showed a notable decrease over the six months. By the end of June, direct interactions had emerged as the most preffered mode of inquiry.
At the outset in January, telephone inquiries were at the forefront, numbering close to 900, which marginally exceeded the count for written queries, just shy of 800. In contrast, face-to-face inquiries were less prevalent, registering marginally above 400. The first quarter saw telephone inquiries stablilize at approximately 1000, whereas direct inquiries witnessed a substantial increase, drawing level with telephone inquiries by April.
In the latter quarter, direct inquiries witnessed an exponential increase, surging by over a thousand to culminate at a peak of 1900 in June. Telephone inquiries also followed an upward trajectory, ascending to 1600. On the contrary, the preference for written correspondence tapered off, bottoming out at nearly 400 inquiries, thereby representing the least favored method by the period’s end.
